I have a strong personal interest in Quebec Culture as both my parents, who have since passed away, were Quebecois, as are all my extended family.
Having been born and raised in Ontario, at a time and in a region where there was no spoken French, I have tried and struggled to learn the language many, many times over the years.
For reasons unknown to me, neither of my parents spoke to me or my siblings in French. I only acquired a little knowledge of the language passively from hearing my parents to speak to each other and while visiting relatives.
Sadly, I was never able to communicate with any of my cousins and therefore never formed close relationships with my extended family.
I have been living in Quebec since 2010 and despite my efforts, I remain stubbornly at a B1 level of oral fluency and comprehension.
It is my sincere wish, before I die, to be able to speak French, if not fluently, at least well enough to carry on a casual conversation and honour the French name I was given.
Well, you need to learn le quebecois not French since those are 2 different languages maybe that’s why it’s been difficult for you to understand the locals and communicate with them especially if they speak le joual which is a different language altogether :)
Love led me to a woman from Quebec. We visit Quebec every year and I'd love to improve my French even more. I might be teaching French soon as well, so your book might become handy.

At almost 30, I made one of the biggest decisions of my life: last March I left everything behind in Italy and moved to Montreal. I only knew a few words of French, but I had a clear goal: learn a new language, immerse myself in a different culture and challenge myself.
I’ve been here for a few months now and both Quebec and this beautiful city have welcomed me with open arms. Every day is a new adventure, and even though this journey hasn’t always been easy, it has already changed me so much.
This is my biggest goal right now: building a new life from scratch and embracing every opportunity to grow. Winning your book would give me an extra push and inspiration to keep going on this incredible journey. ✨

Twice in my life, I was considered for a job in Montréal, and came very close, but in the end it was not to be. One time was quite recent, and I upped my French practice, with more interest in learning Québécois French. I’m on the way to Québec right now for vacation and remain interested in practicing my French there.
J’adore l’ Québec pis j’y voyage très souvent. J’ reste à Toronto mais j’ai des chums à Gatineau pis à Montréal. J’ voudrais améliorer mon québécois pa’ce que mes chums parlent joual au quotidien pis c’pas d’la tarte à comprendre. :)
Depuis deux ans, je suis abonnée aux cours de French with Frédéric et à Learn Quebec French, ce qui m'a permis de combler une lacune de mon enfance à Montréal : ne pas avoir appris le français dans les années 1960 et 1970. Les leçons de Frédéric sont captivantes et agréables.
For two years I have subscribed to French with Frederic and Learn Quebec French and have corrected a missed opportunity during my childhood in Montreal of not learning French in the 1960’s and 70’s. Frederic’s lessons are so engaging and enjoyable.
Mon arrière-arrière-grand-père est nèe en Gaspésie et j’ai l’intention de déménager a Quebec. Donc, je voudrais parler le français Québécois. J’ai l’intention de devenir bilingue mais je sais que le language québécois n’est pas las meme que celui français métropolitaine. J’ai beaucoup de matériel en français mais ce n’es pas français québécois!

I've been trying to learn Quebec French for the past 3 years in order to connect with my in-laws. No method I have tried has taken root. Je vais probablement enseigner un mélange de les deux. J'habite en Suède mais j'ai seulement appris le québécois.
