French With Frederic Delivers Exceptional Value in Quebec French Learning
French With Frederic is built around 10 themed mini-sessions per year, each exploring a new corner of Quebec’s language and culture. Most mini sessions last four weeks.
Every mini-session brings a mix of cultural discovery, structured learning, and engaging topics — all designed to help you progress naturally toward advanced French.
You’ll receive a combination of live classes, pre-recorded lessons, and members-only content that you can follow at your own pace throughout the year.
Here’s what you get inside the program
📚 Club de lecture et cinéma
Our most innovative feature, and the heart of the program!
Each mini-session, we examine a Quebec book and a film or series. You’ll explore the story, characters, themes, vocabulary, and cultural context so you can understand real Québécois French in action.
Across the year, we study 10 French-Canadian books and 10 French-Canadian films or series — the best way to truly absorb the language.
This structure allows you to make real progress!
The film or series classes are suitable for all levels
The Book Club classes are ideal for intermediate and advanced learners
💡 Cours thématiques
Rich, content-based classes where we explore Quebec’s culture, humour, language, and current events.
Expect engaging content, lots of vocabulary, and thematic links with what we study in the Club de lecture et cinéma.
🎙️ Lectures & Interviews
Essential presentation-style classes featuring cultural deep-dives or special guests from Quebec. These sessions offer insights you won’t find in textbooks, with a Q&A at the end.
🎓 Perfectionnement
More advanced classes for learners who want to polish their French and go beyond intermediate. These sessions focus on nuance, precision, and speaking at a higher level.
☕️ Meetups
Relaxed, informal moments where you can practice your French with the community!
🎥 Pre-Recorded Lessons (New in 2026)
Some content-rich classes will now be offered on-demand. Perfect if you prefer studying at your own pace or can’t attend live.
But all classes include
Full video replay
Audio podcast version (Apple, Spotify, etc.)
Notes + key vocabulary
Transcript or subtitles
How our classes work
Every Monday morning, you’ll receive an email outlining all the live classes and activities available for the week. You can then add the ones that interest you directly to your calendar.
Most live classes last 60 minutes. They are designed so that the recording stands completely on its own: you’ll receive the notes, vocabulary, and a replay you can watch or listen to as a podcast (Apple, Spotify, etc.).
Starting in 2026, some lessons will be offered as pre-recorded classes. These will be sent to you as soon as they are published, and you can follow them entirely at your own pace.
All classes are taught entirely in French, with English support for key words and expressions when helpful.
The program is designed for learners who already have a little French and want to go further. Whether you’re comfortable speaking or still prefer to listen quietly, you can follow the classes and progress at your own rhythm.
What makes me different as a teacher is that I’m a language student myself who has successfully learned English, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese and now learning new languages.
You might know me from my Instagram account, where I have almost 30K followers
I grew up in a French-speaking part of Quebec.
At the age of 12, I discovered that I could learn a language on my own, and I did so with English and Italian.
From the age of 20, I learned Spanish, German and Portuguese.
I then pursued a career in web marketing.
But in my late thirties, that passion returned.
I went back to university to study modern languages.
For a few years, I gave over 3000 private lessons on Italki to hundreds students, with a five-star rating. Here’s what some of my clients have said about my courses
My passion is to teach Quebec French the same way I learned languages
That is, through reading and active listening.
I base my methods on Stephen Krashen’s Comprehensible Input theory. I am a firm believer that the human brain is wired to learn languages through comprehension— not through memorization and the study of grammar rules (although those have a place!).
Does that sound good?
Let’s get your French to the next level!
I’ve put a lot of time into learning those languages, and I didn’t always have the right resources.
I understand the hurdles and the difficulties!
When creating my membership French With Frederic, I wanted to create the kind of resources I would have wanted to have as a language student.
A focus on content and culture
Lots of classes and opportunities to practice
Help with reading books and understanding movies
A constant source of motivation
I created French With Frederic with all the resources and coaching you need, along with a focus on Quebec French and culture. There’s nothing quite like it out there, and the price can’t be beat.

But here’s something more.
I’ve been working on the following program for more than six months.
This course presents a unique methodology to teach Quebecois French.
To teach Quebec French, I decided to use one of the most well-known books in the French language. Le Petit Prince, by St-Exupéry!
I have adapted The Little Prince, or “translated it” — into Quebec French.
But that’s not all.
It’s formatted as a course.
Each chapter is recorded, with a Quebecois accent.
Every change, new vocabulary and new grammatical structures are explained.
There’s a complete video presentation to explain the main aspects of Quebec French.
You’ll also have access to the complete audiobook of Le Petit Prince en québécois.
This course will allow you to
Understand Quebecois French
Become familiar with the main differences that make Quebec French so particular
Acquire important Quebecois vocabulary
